NAB 2010 PHABRIX adds video timing feature across the range

At NAB this year PHABRIX has announced a new video timing toolset for its successful Sx range. The addition of video timing control allows an engineer to ‘time up’ a studio.

The Sx range combine a generator, analyser and monitor in the one instrument and PHABRIX have added video timing features to both generation and analysis toolsets.

On the analysis side, the timing function allows measurement of output signals relative to reference with numeric display of lines, samples and micro seconds.

In use an engineer can plug in a signal with known timing delay and use this figure as an offset to measure other sources. Fine and course metering is provided using a timing thermometer.

On the PHABRIX SxD which has two inputs and two outputs, two timing thermometers are available with an additional signal difference timing thermometer to check the timing of dual link signals.

The generation toolset offers a frame locked signal with adjustment delay in lines and samples. This enables the generated signal to be adjusted to emulate the source being used for reference testing throughout a studio.

The new feature is available to existing users of the Sx range after release following NAB.
