PHABRIX celebrates the sale of 2000 SxE

PHABRIX, a leading manufacturer of test and measurement equipment for the professional broadcast industry has just celebrated the manufacture of its 2000th PHABRIX SxE by making a unique carbon fibre clad model with LED back lit control surfaces. The PHABRIX SxE is a combined generator, analyzer and monitor capable of testing 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and SD-SDI on a portable platform with eye and jitter measurements. The instrument is on display at Europe’s important IBC in Hall 8 E25. Attractive as it is, PHABRIX intends to make only one such example despite its futuristic styling.

Following on from the 24 carat gold 1000th PHABRIX SxE shown at IBC 2010, the company has continued the tradition in making each 1000 sale an instrument to remember.

Bassam Asman, senior test and support engineer at PHABRIX along with apprentice Adam Bishop created the carbon fibre SxE in three days at PHABRIX’s HQ based in Burghclere UK. The innovative properties of carbon fiber such as high flexibility, high tensile strength, low weight, high temperature tolerance and low thermal expansion were chosen to complement the electronic innovation of the PHABRIX SxE. The SxE has the unique ability to measure eye and jitter physical layer properties automatically at 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and SD-SDI on a hand held platform. Since its release in 2009, the instrument has gained worldwide recognition and won seven technology awards .

Paul Nicholls, head of sales and marketing at PHABRIX commented: ‘Bassam and Adam created this 2000th SxE purely for its stylistic appearance however it is certainly a head turner and a fully working instrument. Along with the 24 carat gold version, do not expect to find the carbon fibre instrument on the price list soon – they are both one of a kind a bit like the PHABRIX SxE itself. All the hand held products have been universally successful however the PHABRIX SxE’s sucess has been stellar’.
