PHABRIX announced today that it will be showing a new Dolby streaming option for its Sx series of hand held test and measurement instruments on the PHABRIX stand at IBC Hall 8 E25. The new option completes the end to end testing of Dolby E on the Sx when combined with the Dolby E bitstream analyzer option released at NAB earlier this year. Among the tools included in the streaming option is the ability to adjust the ‘start of frame’ for Dolby-E packets. Dolby streams are provided for all program configurations with fixed audio data. Meta data can be edited by the user and stored in memories. Paul Nicholls, head of sales and marketing for PHABRIX commented, ‘Broadcast engineers and system integrators will find the new option particularly useful for testing Dolby throughout the broadcast infrastructure. Combined with the already impressive video and audio generator, analyzer and monitoring functions of the PHABRIX hand held Sx series, the Dolby streaming option is a new tool to add to the award winning list of features on our T&M products.’ Scheduled for release after IBC, the new Dolby streaming option can be purchased and then activated with a simple password once the firmware has been updated remotely on all Sx hand held products.
