PHABRIX announces three new products at NAB No less than three new products were on show on the PHABRIX stand at NAB 2011 - the Rx2000 2U, a dual screen T&M solution, the Rx1000 1U rasterizer and the Rx500 1U half rack rasterizer. The new Rx product range allows an engineer to add different modules to fully ‘personalize’ PHABRIX’s new technology to suit different broadcast environments. Modules can include analyzers with physical layer functions (eye and jitter), separate generator modules, Dolby and there’s even talk of an ASI decode module soon. PHABRIX has also included as standard the ability to output instruments via an SDI or HDMI output at a staggering 1920 x 1080 resolution from all Rx products. The same uncomplicated interface used on the Sx hand held range has been adopted by the Rx technology with a major boost in speed. PHABRIX have explained that the power in the system comes from each module having its own FPGA so it’s not slowed down by needing a separate motherboard. The Rx chassis itself defines the standard of either SD/HD or 3G-SDI – any modules added later assume the supported standard without extra charge. Pricing is a key concern to many currently specifying new installs and PHABRIX has truly produced a new range of cost effective quality instruments that includes a comprehensive focused broadcast toolset. The more modules you add the more cost effective the solution becomes. Paul Nicholls, sales and marketing manager at PHABRIX commented; ‘ Our experience at NAB has indicated the new rack mount Rx products are going to be very popular -such was the response on the stand. The Rx 2000 2U has already been released with the first batch selling immediately. The new Rx 500 and Rx 1000 rasterizers with their unique graphical display and unmatched modular performance will be available at IBC. ‘ The Rx has certainly propelled PHABRIX into a leading provider for test and measurement instruments following on from its success with its unique Sx hand held test and measurement range. |
