Software design engineer

Main purpose of the job

As a Software development engineer you will be part of a small team of multi-disciplined engineers developing state of the art products for the professional broadcast market. Your involvement will be from specification through implementation and customer support.

Specific Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Specification and system design of new products
  • Embedded software drivers
  • Test driven software development with automated test suites
  • Software documentation
Requirements

Experience with the following tools/technologies is essential:

  • Embedded C and C++ software development
  • Linux
Knowledge of the following technologies would be an advantage:

  • Embedded Linux
  • Linux BSP/PSP
  • ARM processors
  • Real-time OS
  • Windows platform development
  • Broadcast video and audio standards
  • VHDL
  • Xilinx FPGAs
  • TI DSP development
  • H.264/MPEG-4 decoding
  • Dolby Digital/E/Plus/Pulse

Experience of the following tools would be valuable:

  • GNU C/C++ tools
  • Borland/CodeGear C++ Builder
  • VMware
  • Subversion
  • MathCAD
  • Active-HDL
