Main activities

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer you will be part of a small team of multi-disciplined engineers developing state of the art products for the professional broadcast market leveraging your skills with C and Linux. Your involvement will be from specification through implementation and testing.

Specific Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Embedded Linux O/S full software lifecycle
  • Contributing to the specification and system design of new products and features

Essential Requirements:

  • Linux Kernel driver development
  • UBoot
  • Board bring-up – BSP development and maintenance
  • Embedded processors
  • Comfortable understanding datasheets and modifying/implementing drivers for the hardware they describe.

Knowledge of the following technologies would be an advantage:

  • Yocto or buildroot  / Open Embedded build system
  • Hardware/firmware interaction and control
  • FPGA interfacing
  • Real-time Operating Systems
  • Python
  • Git

Responsibilities to PHABRIX

  • Always being aware of needs of company, highlight areas that could be improved and bring to R&D meetings
  • Attendance at National / International Exhibitions, NAB, IBC and BVE, if required
  • To take part in Staff reviews annually
  • To take responsibility for own Continual Professional Development
  • Attending courses or training where recommended
  • Support other departments within the company
