Senior Management Team
Phillip Adams is a serial entrepreneur operating in the professional broadcast industry. Phillip graduated from Manchester Polytechnic in 1986 where he studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering sponsored by Granada Television. At the age of 28 after 5 years working as a design engineer in the broadcast industry Phillip started his first company Complete Logic Ltd. providing FPGA design skills under contract.
In 1992 Phillip became a founder and Director of Oxtel Ltd., a manufacturer of logo inserters and channel branding equipment, where he went on to run the R&D department until its sale to Miranda Technologies in 2001. Phillip continued with Miranda for a further two years as European Director of Technology. Phillip left Miranda in 2003 taking a couple of year’s sabbatical before starting his present company PHABRIX Ltd. in 2005.
PHABRIX is now a leading manufacturer of Test and Measurement Equipment targeted at the professional broadcast market. This company of 40+ people goes from strength to strength and has been the winner of more than 20 awards for its technological achievements. Phillip lives in Newbury England with his wife Erica and five children.
Martin is responsible for PHABRIX’s worldwide sales including PHABRIX’s global distributor partner channel.
In addition to sales responsibility, Martin manages PHABRIX’s operational organization, from supply-chain management by purchasing, through product assembly and testing by manufacturing, through to ongoing customer support and the HR requirements to recruit and retain excellent PHABRIX employees.
Martin has extensive Broadcast industry background, having spent 15 years as worldwide Sales Director at Quantel. Martin graduated from Manchester University (UMIST) having studied Computation. Martin enjoys a variety of sporting challenges from Triathlons, Swim Run (Otillo), running, cycling and football.
John manages the financial aspects of the business, including internal and group reporting, managing risk, compliance with statutory financial reporting requirements and overseeing the tax compliance of the business – principally PAYE, VAT and Corporation Tax.
John is a partner in a firm of Chartered Accountants, as well as being on the board of two other SMEs.
Prin is responsible for the market analysis and roadmap development for PHABRIX test & measurement products with a particular focus on High Dynamic Range (HDR) and SMPTE 2110 IP systems.
With over 35 years of hands on industry experience, Prin has worked on the design of several generations of studio equipment throughout the broadcast production chain. More recently he has been deeply involved in the experimentation and testing of live HDR and Wide Color Gamut (WCG) production. He has also worked on the development of next-generation audio (NGA) in live production, the transmission standards for both DVB HDR video and next-generation audio, and the colorimetry for digital cinema.
Prin is a SMPTE Fellow, a member of the IEEE and the AES - is a past chair of AES UK, and has been an IBC papers assessor for many years. He has been awarded several patents and is a frequent participant in industry events.
Mark is Head of Engineering at PHABRIX and is responsible for running the R&D department. Mark graduated from Manchester University (Computer Engineering) and started his first job at Ferranti Computer systems. 1990 saw a change of career and industry, joining a large blue-chip company DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) working on multiprotocol bridge routers.
Following DEC, more data comms experience was gained at Cabletron Networks before working for a start-up - Riverstone Networks - that successfully made it to IPO. Mark joined Miranda in 2003 working on a variety of products including the successful Imagestore750. Mark joined PHABRIX in 2011 and has been heavily involved in product development and the growing and evolution of the R&D department.
Kimberley is responsible for executing PHABRIX’s worldwide marketing strategy including its corporate PR and communications, digital marketing campaigns and branding. Kimberley previously served as Marketing Communications Manager at V-Nova and as PR Manager at Snell Advanced Media. She began her career at Quantel as a Marketing Assistant and, over four years with the company, progressed into the role of Marketing Executive. Kimberley graduated from Cardiff University with honours, earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism, media, and film studies.
Bassam is responsible for managing PHABRIX’s production operation and product services. Bassam is the first point of contact for customers requiring daily product support. Bassam has been with PHABRIX for 11 years and holds more than 23 years’ experience in manufacturing and customer support.
Bassam’s team consists of two experienced Assembly Test Engineers, both with long periods of service at PHABRIX, as well as an Apprentice Assembler. Bassam was previously Production Manager at EMS Ltd and a Test Engineer at Oxtel Plc. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering BEng (Hons) Electronics Engineering and a BTEC HND in Electrical Engineering.
