PHABRIX, a worldwide leader in test and measurement solutions, will highlight the leading SMPTE ST 2110 test and measurement capabilities available in its Qx IP rasterizer and handheld Sx TAG IP solutions. Both products are โJT-NM Testedโโ as end points to provide customers with a trusted reference for solutions that conform to SMPTE standards, and will be available for demonstration at NAB 2019, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from 8-11 April 2019.
PHABRIXโs Managing Director, Phillip Adams, said, โAs technological advances continue apace throughout the industry, it can be challenging for broadcasters to keep up and comply with all the various, and growing, list of standards. As a leading provider in ST 2110 test and measurement solutions, PHABRIX aims to eliminate this pressure for customers and help them maintain standards compliance.โ
Qx IP โ Hybrid IP/SDI Analysis and Monitoring Rasterizers for SMPTE ST 2110, 2022-7 and 2022-6
PHABRIXโs top of the range Qx Series will be on show at NAB 2019, offering the latest in hybrid IP/SDI test and measurement tools with its V3.0 software release. Qx IP is the worldโs first fully flexible rasterizer for hybrid IP/SDI analysis, and video/audio monitoring, for environments that require 4K/UHD (12G/6G/3G-SDI), HD-SDI as well as SMPTE ST 2110, ST 2022-7, ST 2059 (PTP), AMWA NMOS* and ST 2022-6 formats.
Its feature set provides ST 2059 (PTP), decapsulation of 1 video, 2 audio and 1 ANC Data flows with support for ST 2110-20 (Uncompressed Video), -30 (PCM Digital Audio), -31 (AES3 Transparent transport) and -40 (ANC Data). ST 2022-7 seamless protection is provided for all four flows over two media network interfaces.
Audio reception conforms to 2110-30 Class C with support for 48Khz streams from 1 to 8 channels at packet times of 1ms and 1 to 64 channels at packet times of 125us. Fast PTP locking time is provided, with a 1PPS GPI output and real time indication of PTP estimated phase offset. The core 2110 IP toolset also provides indication of the timing relationship of each of the eight 2022-7 flows to PTP with status information, as well as a 2022-7 status tool that reports the health and relative timing skew of each 2022-7 pair.
Advanced Qx ST 2110 measurement tools include the provision of up to four simultaneous Packet Interval Timing measurement and displays, detailed data reporting of flow packet, clock rates and PTP timing relationship, as well as IP Receive statistics that includes the measurements of the ST 2110-21 Network Compatibility model (Cinst) and Virtual Receiver Buffer Model (VRX).
Sx TAG IP โ Portable Hybrid IP/SDI SMPTE ST 2110 and ST 2022-6 Generation, Analysis and Monitoring
PHABRIX will also be demonstrating its โJT-NM-Testedโ Sx TAG IP handheld instrument, providing comprehensive support for modern broadcast IP systems with encapsulation and decapsulation of ST 2110-20/30/40 with IP to SDI gateway, ST 2059 PTP, AMWA NMOS IS-04/IS-05, as well as ST 2022-6.
Offering exceptional mobility in an easy to use and portable format, the Sx TAG IP offers a built-in synchronizer that allows asynchronous SDI sources to be locked to PTP for ST 2110 encapsulation. In addition, analog sync pulses locked to PTP can be generated from a decapsulated ST 2110 PTP locked source.
โ About the JT-NM Tested Program at NAB 2019
Sponsored by the JT-NM and administered by the EBU and IRT โ two top European technical bodies โ the JT-NM Tested program offers prospective purchasers of IP based equipment greater, more documented insight into how vendor equipment aligns to the SMPTE ST 2110 and SMPTE ST 2059 standards. Vendors who submitted equipment to be tested and agreed to make their results public are listed, with their productsโ test results in the JT-NM Tested catalog which is publicly available at the IP Showcase booth at NAB 2019 and at https://ipshowcase.org/jt-nm_tested. This catalog provides transparency, describing the test criteria and testing methodology, as well as the hardware and software versions of the products that were tested. While JT-NM Tested is not a certification program, it will provide a snapshot in time of how vendor equipment aligns to key parts of SMPTE standards, providing prospective purchasers and users with a reference as they begin their equipment evaluation and qualification process.
